Mar 09, 2025A 16-year-old boy is in a critical condition in hospital after the e-scooter he was riding was involved in a crash with a car in Midlothian.
The accident happened on Newmills Road in Dalkeith at about 10:30.
Emergence services were called to the scene and the boy was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where he remains.
The female driver of the Peugeot 2008 car was not injured.
Sgt Louise Birrell said: "Our inquiries are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or who has any information to get in touch.
"We would also urge anyone who was in the area with dash-cam to check their footage for anything that could assist with our investigation."
